Formula 1 taught me that composure is not the absence of pressure, but the ability to think clearly within it.

In high-stakes moments, the difference is rarely intelligence. It's who stays steady enough to influence decisions. I spent years at Mercedes F1, then in commercial leadership at Gartner and back in Motorsport. Different environments, yet very similar human dynamics.

The most capable leaders I've worked with didn't stall because their thinking was wrong. They stalled because there was a gap between their vision and how the organisation responds. I noticed the more composed they remained, the better everyone around them would perform.

I realised this composure wasn't a permanent condition. It's a skill. After years testing it in real teams and researching emotional regulation and leadership psychology, I built the Magnetic Edge model because the best leaders don't need fixing, they just need to make their vision contagious.
